Wilcon and WSI launches "Obra Maestra" 2015-03-27 16:05:38
The annual collegiate interior design competition is back! Wilcon and Worldbex International Services (WSI) launched this year’s Obra Maestra Competition among members of the media on January 28, 2015 at Desigño Atelier Libis, Quezon City.
Led by Wilcon SEVP – Chief Operating Officer Rosemarie Ong and Worldbex Services International’s JR Ang and Edward Diamonon, the event formally introduced this year’s theme – Asian Integration – as well as the set of participating schools that will compete for the title.
Among the participants and their assigned area are as follows:
SOFA Design Institute – Camboadian Inspired Dining Room
St. Scholastica’s College – Malaysian Styled Bedroom
Philippine School of Interior Designers – Thai themed Living Room
University of Sto. Tomas – Philippine Indigenous Style Bathroom
University of the East – Laos’ Inspired Bedroom
Mapua Institute of Technology – Brunei Look Living Room
University of the Philippines – Philippine Colonial Designed Dining Room
Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology – Singaporean themed Bathroom Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Myanmar Inspired Bedroom
College of Holy Spirit – Vietnamese themed Living Room
Philippine Women’s University – Indonesia’s Dining Room Design
College of St. Benilde – Muslim Inspired Bathroom
Now on its fifth year, Obra Maestra is an annual inter-school design competition participated by eleven academic institutions offering BS Interior Design courses. Each school is represented by a group of BSID students who are given the task to create and execute an original home design concept using the products available at Wilcon.
The competition, held simultaneous with WORLDBEX, features home designs viewed by the trade goers and home enthusiasts. The competition will be held on March 11 to 15, 2015 at Philippine Trade Training Center, where all designs will be put on display among Worldbex exhibit visitors and enthusiasts. Obra Maestra, through distinguished panel of judges, will hail a champion and a runner up who will receive trophy and cash prizes for their group and their school.
